Intended for both legal practitioners and students, the book is published in three volumes and aims to fill a gap in French legal literature. It presents and explains in detail all the institutions of the general part of the law of obligations, relying on legislation, jurisprudence, and current doctrine, presenting recent developments, giving an account of existing controversies, and offering comparative legal perspectives.

The second volume discusses the fundamental stages that characterize the formation of the contract, its interpretation, including its possible completion. The examination of the formation of the contract requires a detailed analysis of the rules governing its existence and validity, and consequently of the vices that may affect its form and object, as well as the consent of the parties. The predefined terms for concluding the contract, such as the general terms and conditions of business and smart contracts, are also the subject of detailed developments. The last part of the volume is devoted to the execution of the obligations, including the object and modalities of payment, which concern the author and the beneficiary, the place and moment of execution, as well as the obligations of collaboration and the debtor's liability. An index and a table of the legal provisions cited facilitate the search for relevant passages to answer specific questions.
