Product details
From homelessness to the big stages - a story about the dirt out there. In 2016, Tex Brasket arrives in Berlin. This is not his first attempt at a fresh start, but it is one that goes terribly wrong: after a few foolish mistakes and some missed opportunities, he ends up on the streets. Tex is no stranger to setbacks. Shortly after his birth into a difficult family in Texas, he tests positive for various drugs. Neither through adoption nor by moving to Germany and attending school in the Bavarian countryside could he escape the issues of violence and addiction. Now, all he has left is a sleeping bag, a handful of clothes, and his guitar. And the feeling that nothing matters anymore - it is still summer in Neukölln. It is an unprotected life, marked by distrust, hardship, and despair, but also by solidarity and hope. He has terrible experiences, learns his lessons, gets to know himself anew - and he finds a new language: he begins to sing about this life. As a street musician, he earns a reputation and an audience over the next three years. One day, he is discovered as the new singer for the legendary punk band Slime. Months later, he stands in front of 40,000 people on a festival stage. Christian Schlodder and Tex Brasket met in 2017, when little suggested such a turn of events aside from Tex's voice and talent: he played his songs for a bit of change or a can of beer. Together, they tell a story of dirt and darkness, but with an even brighter sparkle.
