Dr. Peter "Pitle" Gloor served for many decades as a pioneer and visionary for cross-border cooperation in the German-French-Swiss border region along the Upper Rhine. In 1963, he co-founded the Regio Basiliensis association in Basel along with Hans J. Briner, Andreas Speiser, and Samuel Schweizer. Together, they successfully advocated for the goal of establishing and strengthening political, economic, and cultural connections across borders. Throughout his life, Peter Gloor was a remarkably dedicated ambassador for the Regio idea, significantly shaping the association since its inception. In the commemorative publication for the long-time co-founder, president, and honorary president of Regio Basiliensis, colleagues and companions honor his contributions.
