Dorf unter Verdacht

September 1939: The Second World War has just broken out, and thousands of children are leaving London to flee to the countryside. Some children are also brought to Suffolk, where Josephine Tey is currently staying with her friend Marta in her beloved cottage. However, when a girl mysteriously disappears upon arrival and Archie Penrose arrives to find her, Josephine quickly realizes that she is already embroiled in her next case.

In the chaos and uncertainty of the impending war, Josephine fears the looming changes and must also confront the question with Marta of whether a child can find temporary refuge with them. As a cloud of mistrust settles over the small village in Suffolk, the conflict becomes personal, and events take a dark and ominous turn.
