There is consistent method training and stringent reading promotion, along with self-evaluation and a German-as-a-big-language methodology.

The structure is transparent, featuring topic chapters with two main areas of competence and training units. It covers genres, authors, and media, and includes training on working techniques, spelling, and grammar. Workbooks with solutions and a CD-ROM are available in two versions: the Workbook Basis for Basic Requirements and the Workbook for the Work.
