Product details
"Don't look now" marks the beginning of a series of annual thematic collection presentations by the Department of Contemporary Art at the Kunstmuseum Bern. The titular invitation refers to the central role of visual perception in visual art and to the 'invisible' moment when physical-sensory perception transforms into understanding, a phenomenon that has always been reflected in art itself. But through which means and methods does this occur in contemporary art, and how does it engage with the essentially invisible? How does it lead to understanding in an aesthetic way? Seeing, making seeing impossible, invisibility, visibility - within the tension of this array of concepts, this will be explored in a fruitful engagement with the presented works. Artists: Silvia Bächli, Herbert Brandl, Stefan Brüggemann, James L.
