Product details

The book "Distribution of Paleoindian Debitage from the Helen Lookingbill Site" provides a comprehensive analysis of a 10,400-year-old excavated stone tool assemblage from the Helen Lookingbill site in the Washakie Mountains of Wyoming. This study examines the behavior of early Paleoindians in a high-altitude environment and highlights the spatial distribution of worked stone, faunal materials, and natural rock. Through various analytical methods, including refitting, attribute analysis, and spatial analysis, the structure and formation processes of the stone tool assemblage are investigated. The results indicate that a large portion of the excavated artifacts was minimally affected by post-depositional processes, suggesting a well-organized production of stone tools that may have been centered around a hearth. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of early human activities in this region.
