Dissonanz

Max Dax has written the novel of his generation with "Dissonance" – because he deeply distrusts his generation. "Dissonance" is the true story of an interchangeable year. The first novel by former Spex editor-in-chief Max Dax is both an investigation into crimes committed in his name and an exploration of poetry before and after Auschwitz. It tells of unrequited love, of endless Europe, of good food and good music. But who is the author and what really happened in 2009/2010? One thing is clear: the narrator lives in a relentless rhythm of hours and days, in patterned rhythms that remind one of cracks in time: the world is an invention of others, and nothing can happen to me. This raises the question of hyperreality: can the future be conjured in the present, or is it predetermined?
