Differentiated teaching and self-directed learning in history classes for 7th and 8th grades!

How can we inspire students in the subject of history and convey the content of the lessons not just cognitively? How do we motivate each individual student, even in highly diverse learning groups? The answer: through station-based learning. This teaching method allows all students to engage in self-directed, self-structured, and cooperative learning. This second volume for 7th and 8th grades first explains the method and its practical implementation in the classroom. The subsequent practical section prepares three topics for students: 'French Revolution', 'March Revolution 1848', and the 'Formation of the German Empire 1870/71'. In this new volume, the station-based learning for the French Revolution is presented twice - once in German and a second time (with the same content) in English for bilingual history instruction.

Students are introduced to the respective topic through six to eight mandatory stations and various additional stations. Through creative text work, a product-oriented approach, and numerous opportunities for internal differentiation, it is possible to motivate even heterogeneous learning groups to participate.
