Aside from the well-known tourist attractions such as the shopping street Bahnhofstrasse or the trendy district of Zurich West, Zurich boasts a well-preserved medieval city center. Already in the Middle Ages, Zurich held a certain economic significance and was a quintessential city of that time. Prof. Dr. iur. Marcel Senn, a legal historian at the University of Zurich, annually conducts a city tour for law students in collaboration with the student organization ELSA. In a hands-on approach to history, he narrates the stories of individual houses and streets in Zurich's old town, placing them in a broader historical context. This city tour is now available in book form, illustrated with many photos and city maps that mark the discussed locations.
