Digital education technologies (EdTech) raise high expectations and are part of various promises in terms of individualisation, relief or self-directed learning. But what is really behind these technologies and what are the consequences for pedagogy? Based on the goal of a reflective design of school digitalisation, this anthology brings together research and practical approaches from Germany for the first time in this form, which critically question the typical promises of EdTech. Instead of generalised euphoria or rejection, the articles in the volume argue for a differentiated picture - and thus provide inspiration for all those seeking concrete approaches for the conscious use of EdTech.
