Product details
Dieter Fuchs (born 1952 in Innsbruck) plays an important role as an artistic personality in the city of Innsbruck and has been present with numerous solo exhibitions since 1967 to this day. Not only within Tyrol but also beyond the Austrian borders, he had significant artistic influence, especially in the 1980s and 1990s, particularly in Germany. He was a central member of the Cologne art scene, as evidenced by his exhibitions in Cologne, Maastricht, Asperen, Aachen, Hamburg, Wuppertal, and Mannheim. A significant part of his work includes collaborations with prominent contemporaries from West Germany. Long-standing friendships with Martin Kippenberger, Walter Dahn, and others formed the basis for joint exhibitions. However, the focus of his work has always been Innsbruck, where he had a studio on Pradlerstrasse from 1996 to 2008. Between 2012 and 2018, the state of Tyrol purchased some of his artworks. The second part of HEADLINES documents, like the previous part, the development of Fuchs' works over the last 45 years with 160 full-page color and black-and-white images. The visual section of the book is accompanied by an artistic text from his twin brother Herbert, who has critically documented Dieter Fuchs' work for decades. The volume is complemented by a bio/bibliography and a work index.
