How do we find real life? In retreating into untouched nature? In immortality after death? Through the lives of our children? These questions also preoccupy the fictional poet and philosopher Moritz Brandt. His friend Aaron sorts through his estate and comes across diaries and essays in which Brandt reflects on real life. However, the more he immerses himself in these texts, the more Aaron wonders: Where does the desire to transform, to truly become, come from? Michael Hampe masterfully intertwines narrative and reflection, allowing us to recognize how the distinction between appearance and reality hinders us from coming to terms with our lives.
