Women and girls with AD(H)S are diagnosed much less often than men and boys because their symptoms are less noticeable. Affected women and girls tend to be less hyperactive but more dreamy, inattentive, and forgetful. Late or missed diagnoses can have far-reaching consequences, leading to decades of suffering, damaged self-esteem, and secondary conditions.
