Die Villa Hadriana - die grösste kaiserliche Villenanlage der Geschichte

Study project from 2008 in the Department of History - World History - Early History, Antiquity, grade: 1,0, Technical University Dresden (Institute for History), language: German, abstract: "The Villa des Hadrians is located in a graceful area of quiet beauty, bordered on one side by mountains, on the other by the plain and open to Rome...marble, stucco, coloured plaster that covered the walls, beams, coloured marble columns, precious marble or mosaic floors, they are all completely lost. The bold vaults have largely collapsed. The many works of art collected by Hadrian no longer adorn the buildings. We only know them from European museums. But despite all the devastation caused by time and man, the villa has preserved its charm to this day, because of the magnificence of its centuries-old trees.
