Like Lacan's "writings," the German volumes of the "Seminars" are partially out of print, will not be reissued by Ullstein/Quadriga, and will no longer be delivered as of 2015. These volumes are now being published successively by Turia + Kant, in the translations that have stood the test of time, beginning with the best known of them, Seminar XI on the "Four Basic Concepts of Psychoanalysis." This Seminar XI, from 1963-64, coincided with the time when Lacan separated from the IPA (International Psychoanalytical Association) and founded his own school, EFP (École Freudienne de Paris). It was also the first to be edited by Jacques-Alain Miller in the still unfinished series of Seminar Editions.
