Die unvollendete direkte Demokratie

There is hardly another Swiss individual who has engaged with and examined direct democracy from so many different perspectives as intensively as Andreas Gross over the past 30 years. Both scientifically and practically - consider the popular initiatives "For a Switzerland Without an Army" (1981-1989), the anti-F/A-18 campaign (1992/93), and the initiative for Switzerland's accession to the UN (1997-2002) - Gross, as a journalist, lecturer, and as a member of the Zurich Constitution and National Council (1991-2015), dealt with the rights of the people, advocated for them, sought to deepen and refine them, and to carry them beyond national borders. These 30 texts from the past 30 years are evidence of this commitment and expression of the engagement with it. The texts compiled in this book provide us with insight into the history of direct democracy.
