Die Tochter

The literary rediscovery from South Korea. For years, mother and daughter have shared little more than a terse lunch once a week. Between their bowls of noodles lies a mountain of unspoken words. The mother, a caregiver in a nursing home, leads a discreet, modest life. Her daughter Green has chosen a different path: she has no man, barely any income, and loves a woman. When the couple has to move in with the mother, their radically different life plans collide with great force.
