Product details

Few bands are discussed as controversially as the American nu-metal and alternative metal group Slipknot. The name is indicative: "Slipknot" is the English term for the hangman's knot. The band performs in matching overalls, with only their eerie masks being individually designed. The nine musicians are numbered from 0 to 8, which helps distinguish them during their spectacular live performances. In 2006, Slipknot won a Grammy for Best Heavy Metal Performance. Their martial appearance is not just a facade; it also reflects the band's real lifestyle: Corey Taylor, the lead singer and frontman, wears the number 8. He is also the singer and guitarist for the band Stone Sour, which plays more melodic hard rock and last performed at Rock am Ring in 2010. Taylor is famous for his sometimes disturbing stage show. He leads an extravagant life filled with alcohol, medication, drugs, and sex. As his fame grew, so did these excesses. In Taylor's first book, he discusses the seven deadly sins feared by Christianity: pride, greed, lust, anger, gluttony, envy, and sloth. Corey Taylor describes his own relationship with these sins and how he has committed them all. He views these sins as a human weakness that everyone must experience at some point. It's an intriguing autobiographical story told through the lens of the seven deadly sins.
