Great Britain 1923: Near the luxurious Holloway Sanatorium, a mental hospital for members of high society just outside London, walkers make a gruesome discovery: male corpses, all castrated and decapitated. Scotland Yard's investigation leads nowhere.

The young nurse Maureen Morgan follows a tip from the occultist Aleister Crowley and begins her own investigations - and hits the mark. When Maureen gets on the trail of the culprit, she herself gets into extreme danger.
