Product details
In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in the north-east of the Federal Republic of Germany lies the Mecklenburg Lake District, the largest contiguous lake area in Germany. Of particular interest to paddlers is the so-called Kleinseenplatte (Small Lake District) with its many small and larger lakes, which are connected by canals and small rivers and offer a variety of round trips. Some of the tours are in the Müritz National Park or lead through nature or landscape conservation areas. The flora and fauna is astonishingly diverse. This may be due to the fact that Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is the most sparsely populated state in Germany. The Peene, also known as the Amazon of the North, and other small rivers such as the Warnow, Tollense and Recknitz are less well known, but very attractive. Paddlers need not expect any technical difficulties. The author has put together eleven multi-day tours, which are divided into a total of 55 day tours. Many of the tours can be linked together or varied as desired. From a leisurely day trip to weekend trips to a longer canoeing holiday, every paddler can get his money's worth here.
