Blurb
This book is more relevant than ever and serves as a great resource for parents and educators to discuss the Middle East conflict and the relationship between religions with children: Three cicadas travel to a concert of animals in Jerusalem. The first comes from a mosque, the second from a monastery, and the third lives next to a synagogue. All three want nothing to do with each other. When each of them tries to start their presentation, the disappointment is great: none of the cicadas is heard—they are too small and therefore too quiet. However, their failure inspires them with an idea: they make music together and succeed. Helga Höfle creatively illustrates the possible dialogue among the three monotheistic world religions from the Holy Land. Verena Lenzen has imaginatively and meticulously illustrated this story, which includes a foreword by the religious philosopher Schalom Ben-Chorin.
