Die Österreichische Präsidentschaftskanzlei in der Wiener Hofburg

The Leopoldine Wing of the Vienna Hofburg is a centre of political life in Austria - today, as the seat of the offices of the Republic's head of state, just as it once was as the ceremonial centre of the Habsburgs.
Built under Emperor Leopold I as an extension of the medieval castle, this wing housed the most magnificent interiors of the imperial court in Vienna, valuable furniture and precious works of art from the Maria Theresian Rococo to Neoclassical phases and Historicist furnishing styles.
This book allows a look behind doors that are rarely opened. It explains the political and structural history, the history of art and furnishings and shows the Presidential Chancellery in a new light thanks to new scientific findings and contemporary photography.
