Summary:
The present volume originates from an international colloquium held in Heidelberg in 2006, which presented the results of a project that for the first time systematically examined the psychiatric medical records of the victims of "Aktion T4," the centrally organized phase of the murders of the sick, which were believed to have been lost. In addition, the current state of research on this first major mass extermination action of the Nazi regime was compiled.
