Underwater archaeologist Frank Borgmann discovers the remains of the French fleet off the coast of Aboukir, which was sunk by the English during the Battle of the Nile in 1799. When Borgmann finds an amulet with strange hieroglyphs on the seabed, he is alerted to the Basel archaeologist Robert Langer, who teaches in Cairo. With his intuition, Robert senses a secret that overshadows all the previous mysteries he has solved as Sagicitas. In the process, he crosses paths with an organization that has been pursuing what Robert is trying to find for centuries. This ruthless group seems willing to use any means necessary. Robert's most dangerous adventure takes him on a roundabout journey from Alexandria to Paris and finally to Basel, where his greatest challenge awaits.
