Product details
The Andalusian philosopher Averroës (1126 - 1198) saw logic as the only way for humans to achieve happiness. For him, logic (according to Aristotle) provided the means to arrive at the truth through sensory data. Maximilian Joseph Heinrich Horten (1874 - 1945), a library councilor, professor of oriental languages, and a prominent German orientalist, endeavored to create a fundamental systematic study of Arabic philosophy and theology, translating several of the most important texts of Arabic philosophy into German. In the present work, the author translates and explains Averroës' commentary on Aristotle's Metaphysics. This is a reprint of the original edition from 1912.
