The German Navy has not only been active at sea for over 100 years, but it also includes naval aviators. Author and naval expert Ulf Kaack presents all the aircraft of the naval aviators in chronological order from 1956 to the present in this current work. The technology and history of helicopters, jets, and fixed-wing aircraft are thoroughly detailed, complemented by a table of technical specifications for each. Nearly two dozen aircraft are introduced by the pilots who once flew these machines or still do today. They provide the reader with a particularly vivid description of flying and the flying experience. The pilots share insights from their flying practice, revealing insider details, extraordinary stories, and often humorous anecdotes. High-ranking retired officers also contribute their voices to the narrative, providing personal photographs from their private albums. This book project is supported by the naval aviators of the German Navy and the Naval Aviation Museum "Aeronauticum" in Nordholz.
