Product details
The aim of the ZEBRA group, founded in 1964 in Hamburg, is to develop modernism in the direction of the visible world and thus to renew the connection between art and life. This is the quintessence, the best-of of the internationally renowned artist group ZEBRA (consisting of Dieter Asmus, Peter Nagel and Dietmar Ullrich), founded in 1964 / 65, whose aim is to create a "New Realism" that is binding for our time, to further develop modernism in the direction of the visible world and thus to renew the connection between art and life. Trained in abstraction and having grown up with photography, the artists succeed in immortalising today's sights in an exemplary manner to create suggestive images of our present. The artists were influenced by Pablo Picasso, Francis Bacon and Jean Dubuffet; joint exhibitions have been held in Aalborg, Belgrade, Cologne, Hamburg, London and Rome, among other places.
