Impressive and frightening at the same time. A power struggle is raging on the streets of German cities: criminal Arab clans have conquered urban neighborhoods in Berlin, Bremen, Dortmund, and Essen over the years - and hardly anyone has stopped them. For a long time, the police and judiciary were powerless against the escalating violence. Now the state has taken up the fight against these family ties. Since 2003, SPIEGEL-TV reporters Thomas Heise and Claas Meyer-Heuer have been investigating the criminal activities of these clans.
