Elaine Dawson is plagued by misfortune. When she plans to travel to Gibraltar for a friend's wedding, all flights at Heathrow are canceled due to fog. Instead of waiting in the departure hall, she accepts an offer from a stranger to stay at his apartment, and from that moment on, she is never seen again. Five years later, journalist Rosanna Hamilton reopens the case. Suddenly, there are hints that Elaine is still alive. However, as Rosanna follows these leads, she has no idea that she will soon be in grave danger herself.
