A people without a state. Also forgotten in Europe. The actual coup in Turkey took place in 2015 - a civilian coup by the AKP. Who knows about the war that the government in Ankara has been waging against the Kurds since 2015? Who remembers the repressions in the 1990s? Here, people are at most familiar with the PKK and might wonder why thousands are still taking to the streets across Europe with the colors and symbols of this "terror organization." Schamberger and Meyen demonstrate that the persecution of the Kurds is rooted in the founding history of Turkey and that the real coup occurred there in 2015 - a civilian coup by the AKP. However, the West does not want to jeopardize its alliance with the Erdogan regime and therefore abandons a 25-million-strong people.
