As a specific organization, the modern company is one of the most important social institutions of modern society. Companies are not only places of the production of goods and services, they are - through the close interweaving of masculinity and gainful employment - also the place of the (re-)production of the construction of masculinity. Organizations are not gender-neutral, but are gender-relative and gender-determined communication patterns, codes of conduct, cultural styles and structures. These aspects of organization are the focus of this paper. This one is looking into the following question: Which construction of masculinity can be discerned in male executives who are active in the project management of management consultancies and their work organizational environment through a maximum of dissolution of boundaries and subjectivity.
