Product details

Carl R. Rogers (1902-1987) was a student of Freud's student Otto Rank. From 1940, he was a professor of psychology, first in Chicago and finally in La Jolla, California. Around 1940, Rogers established client-centered psychotherapy, which is also known as conversation therapy in Germany and has since spread worldwide.

Client-centered conversation therapy, which is based on a non-directive approach in counseling and therapy and is also referred to as "Rogers therapy," is gaining increasing importance for play therapy with children, for schools and education, as well as for group therapy with adults. The book provides a clear presentation of the methods that can help individuals in need of counseling achieve a new and better adjustment of their personality. It addresses not only the nature of the therapeutic process but also the issues that may arise in counseling. The book aims for a dynamic integration of successful techniques from general counseling and counseling procedures in specific situations.
