On a remote mountain road, the completely disturbed Laura Schrader is rescued from the wreckage of a car. In the trunk, the rescuers discover a gruesomely disfigured corpse. When the police call in psychologist Robert Winter, he is confronted with the most mysterious case of his career: the story Laura Schrader tells him sounds unbelievable. Yet somewhere within this delusional construct, the truth must be hidden. The further Robert delves, the more he realizes that the danger Laura Schrader warns of is far more terrifying than any delusion.
