Die Karikatur im Geschichtsunterricht

Like no other medium, caricature as an authentic contemporary source invites discovery, puzzling and thinking. It is precisely through the often one-sided and pointed views of the cartoonists on "the" past that the construct character of history becomes clear. Caricatures are thus ideally suited to develop historical questioning, factual, methodological and judgemental competence as the central skills and abilities to be acquired in history lessons. The present volume, which includes numerous teaching suggestions, is aimed at students and trainee teachers as well as at practising history and politics teachers.
