Die jungen Bestien

A new criminal case from Piedmont, in which the taciturn mountain owl and secretive judge of character Corso Bramard investigates: The remains of twelve bodies are found during the construction of a high-speed rail line between Milan and Turin, and a trail leads back to the time of Italian terrorism, the Brigate Rosse. In the Turin autumn of 1977, a few youths had set fire to the party headquarters of the right-wing MSI. This had resulted in the death of a man who was in the premises at night. Did the youths know that there was a man in the building? Was it all just a game played by the young people, in those heated times, or did they really want to commit murder? No one knows the answer, the youths have since disappeared without a trace. Almost forty years later, two commissioners and their former colleague Corso Bramard are looking for a connection to that case. The three get caught in an almost unconquerable whirlpool of Italian omertà and lies. And yet they persistently approach a truth that has been swept under the carpet by politics.
