Product details

Surprisingly easily, in 1532, the Spaniard Francisco Pizarro managed to defeat the Inca ruler Atahualpa in the Battle of Cajamarca. The empire began in the Andes around 1200, when members of the Inca clan established an untouchable status for their ancestor Manqu Khapaq as the child of the sun god. The dark sides of this exemplary kingdom in its administration included incompetent heirs to the throne, royal incest, power struggles that escalated to murder, and a civil war that played into the hands of the conquerors. Descendants of the Incas still live in Peru and Spain today.
