Product details
Synthetic nanoparticles promise novel products. Their risks are not fully researched. This dissertation from Freiburg provides a liability law analysis using medical applications as an example. First, the technical fundamentals are presented, allowing interested legal professionals to gain an entry point into the subject. Subsequently, the liability for damages caused by nanoparticles is examined. The analysis systematically explores the foundations of liability under fault and product liability. This particularly demonstrates that, despite the extension of limitation periods, liability for late damages is insufficient. Finally, the dissertation evaluates individual proposals de lege ferenda for nanotechnology and presents a suggestion on how late damages can be better considered de lege lata.
