Product details
Three sisters, three classics, and three heroines, as different as they can be. Whether it is the strong-willed Jane, the passionate Catherine, or the honest Agnes, in the end, they all defy the conventions of their time in their own way and take control of their lives. Sometimes quietly, sometimes tumultuously, but always touching and emotional – these are the novels of the Brontë sisters.
"Agnes Grey" (1847): Young Agnes Grey must leave her family to take a position as a governess. Day after day, she is subjected to the mischief of the children and the disrespectful behavior of the wealthy families. However, when she meets the young curate Edward Weston, tender feelings awaken in Agnes.
"Jane Eyre" (1847): After a sad childhood with her aunt and at a boarding school, Jane Eyre finds a job as a governess at the remote estate of Thornfield Hall. There, she falls in love with the moody landowner Edward Rochester, who reciprocates her feelings. However, Jane soon realizes that terrible things are happening in the gloomy mansion that will soon put her in a difficult position.
"Wuthering Heights" (1847): In the rugged moorland of northern England lies the estate of Wuthering Heights, where the dark love between Catherine and Heathcliff ignites. When Catherine breaks his heart, Heathcliff embarks on a quest for revenge that only ends with his death. Translated and with a foreword by Ingrid Rein and Stefanie Kuhn-Werner.
