The von der Schulenburg family is as large and diverse as few other families. It includes bishops, as well as Matthias von der Schulenburg, who saved Corfu from the Turks as a field marshal. Friedrich von der Schulenburg was a member of the Reichstag for the NSDAP and an SS-Obergruppenführer, while his son Fritz-Dietlof made a name for himself as a resistance fighter. Tisa von der Schulenburg was an artist and later lived as Sister Paula in the Ursuline convent in Dorsten.
