Product details
In April 2014, a command of the terrorist organization Boko Haram attacked the village of Chibok in northeastern Nigeria and abducted 276 schoolgirls from the local boarding school. An outcry went around the world. Under the hashtag "Bring Back Our Girls", personalities like Michelle Obama and Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai expressed their horror. The fate of the schoolgirls from Chibok is not an isolated incident. To this day, thousands of women are in the hands of the Islamists. In July 2015, the "Zeit" reporter Wolfgang Bauer travelled to Nigeria to talk to girls who managed to escape. They tell of their lives before their abduction, their cruel experiences during their imprisonment and their dreams for a better future. The women's stories offer exclusive insights into the inner life of the organisation and draw a detail.
