Die Geburt der Tragödie

Nietzsche's first significant work, in which he develops a cultural worldview based on studies of ancient Greece, music, and philosophy, and presents a theory on the emergence and decline of Greek tragedy. The work combines cultural philosophical and aesthetic reflections and essentially distinguishes between apolitical and Dionysian forms of art, further addressing Greek musical drama, the tragic thought, and the philosophers of ancient Greece.
