Patrick Rothfuss, born in 1973 in Madison, Wisconsin, teaches as a university lecturer and lives in Wisconsin. In his free time, he writes satirical columns and experiments with alchemy. In 2007, Patrick Rothfuss was awarded the Quill Award and the Publishers Weekly Award for Best Fantasy Book of the Year for "The Name of the Wind." In 2009, he received the German Fantasy Award.
