After the murder of his great love by South African special forces in Botswana in the mid-80s, young development worker Leander decides to become a war correspondent. He witnesses the atrocities in Rwanda, Afghanistan, and Syria. Unflinchingly, he realizes that alongside the many people, it is always the truth that dies first. He critically questions whether there can even be one truth and recognizes the mechanisms that lead people to war and allow them to kill. During an assignment, he himself shoots a Serbian militia member who is raping a woman. Her icy blue eyes haunt him. To process his trauma, he sets out to find her. He finds her. But does he also find love?.
