Die existentielle Metaphysik von Karl Jaspers

In Jaspers' existential metaphysics, the terms "existence" and "transcendence" are closely connected. Only for existence does being, which Jaspers calls "transcendence," have meaning, and only existence can experience the presence of transcendence in the world. Transcendence, however, is not given to man, but it is sought by him, which Jaspers calls "invoking transcendence." Czesława Piecuch shows that this happens in the world and only in the world in different ways: in the experience of borderline situations, in the loving struggle with others, and in reading the ciphers of transcendence. Thus, the search for transcendence takes place thanks to the existential freedom that allows existence to be realized in relation to transcendence, thereby helping man to live truly.
