Product details

The Eurythmy Figures of Rudolf Steiner is a non-fiction book that explores the eurythmy developed by Rudolf Steiner, a movement art that makes language and music visible in a spiritual way. In collaboration with Marie von Sivers and Lory Maier-Smits, the eurythmy figures were created in 1912 as teaching material for eurythmists. These figures, made of colored painted plywood, represent the basic gestures of sounds and moods as conceived by Steiner. The designs were developed in close collaboration with the sculptor Edith Maryon and have been refined over the years in a workshop. The figures are not only a means of artistic expression but also a unique stylistic device that illustrates the connection between movement, feeling, and the character of the dancers. The use of mineral paints and the special layering technique give the figures a unique brilliance and transparency that emphasizes the spiritual dimension of eurythmy.
