Why is there a need for a book about cause-effect chains (CEC) in the body? Connected thinking is fundamentally very important, especially in medicine, where health is at stake, the highest good of a person. Unfortunately, this kind of thinking is often lacking or completely absent in that field. With the description of cause-effect chains, Martin Spring aims to consciously counteract this issue. Medical professionals as well as patients should increasingly ask themselves where a problem originates and what the causes of symptoms are. This book provides assistance in addressing these questions. CECs should illustrate how there can be different chains of effects stemming from a single cause, which then lead to symptoms or an illness. Six different types of CECs are distinguished: biomechanical, fascial, vascular, neurological, metabolic, and psycho-emotional.
