Author: Roger Willemsen

Roger Willemsen, born in 1955 in Bonn and passed away in 2016 in Wentorf near Hamburg, initially worked as a lecturer, translator, and correspondent from London, and from 1991 also as a host, director, and producer for television. He received numerous awards, including the Bavarian Television Award and the Adolf Grimme Award in Gold, the Rinke Prize, the Julius Campe Prize, the Prix Pantheon Special Award, the German Audiobook Award, and the Honorary Gift of the Heinrich Heine Society. Willemsen was an honorary professor of literary studies at Humboldt University in Berlin, a patron of the Afghan Women's Association, and performed numerous solo programs on stage. His bestsellers "Der Knacks," "Die Enden der Welt," "Momentum," "Das Hohe Haus," and "Wer wir waren" were published by S. Fischer Verlag. The volume "Der leidenschaftliche Zeitgenosse," edited by Insa Wilke, provides information about Roger Willemsen's extensive work. Willemsen's artistic estate is housed in the archive of the Academy of Arts in Berlin.
