Parental Authority, Child Protection, and Child Assets (Articles 296-327c of the Swiss Civil Code) The commentary on kinship as the second section of family law in the Swiss Civil Code has previously been presented in the volumes 1 and 2 edited by Cyril Hegnauer (covering the establishment of the parent-child relationship up to and including the parents' duty of support). This third volume continues that series and takes into account all subsequent legislative amendments and federal court rulings up to the summer of 2016, following the revision and complete restructuring of child law that came into effect on January 1, 1978. Central themes include the content, scope, and significance of parental rights and obligations from the birth of the child until reaching adulthood, as well as the possibilities and limitations of joint parental authority and its tension with the child's own capacity for action. Official intervention and the involvement of the child in the proceedings are discussed in the context of constitutional guarantees and international legal standards, providing practical insights.
