Product details
Edda refers to two very different collections from the 13th century: the Poetic Edda, a collection of poems about gods and heroes, whose themes can be traced back to the Migration Period, and the so-called Prose Edda by the Icelandic scholar, poet, and politician Snorri Sturluson (1178/9–1241). It serves as a handbook for poets and also preserves many of the well-known stories of the gods from Norse mythology. Rudolf Simek presents both Eddas and their tales of gods and heroes.
